YUPO Octopus XAD1099 Enables Museum Labels that Balance Visibility and Viewing Experience
Case Studies
Providing Visitor Information Without Compromising the Art Experience
The Tochigi Prefectural Museum of Fine Arts sought a way to present artwork information clearly while preserving the visual experience of visitors. For a special exhibition featuring primarily two-dimensional artworks, conventional floor-mounted labels did not provide sufficient visibility and risked distracting from the exhibits.
The museum adopted YUPO Octopus XAD1099, applying it directly to the glass surfaces of display cases. This approach enables visitors to access information close to the artwork while maintaining a clean, unobtrusive exhibition environment. The material blends naturally into the exhibition space, allowing visitors to appreciate the colors, atmosphere, and details of the artworks without disruption.
Because YUPO Octopus can be repeatedly applied and removed without adhesive, installation and repositioning are simple. Its compatibility with laser printing also allows efficient on-site production, making it an ideal solution for museum exhibitions that require both flexibility and professional presentation.

Customer Feedback
We have been using YUPO Octopus on an ongoing basis at our museum. In our current special exhibition (as of March 2026), it is being used for labels attached directly to the glass surfaces of display cases.
Normally, many of our exhibitions feature three-dimensional works displayed inside cases. However, this exhibition primarily showcases two-dimensional artworks, and conventional floor-mounted captions did not provide adequate visibility.
By placing the labels on the glass surface, we are able to communicate information naturally without detracting from the colors of the artwork or the overall atmosphere of the exhibition space.
