Artist and
designer support

Support for Chiori Ito (designer and artist): "paper wreath"

YUPO is highly regarded in the arts as a material with unique characteristics, and we actively collaborate with artists and designers.
We support creative activities by sharing tips on YUPO's material properties and processing, providing materials for prototyping, and introducing printing and processing companies. These creative endeavors and finished works are showcased on our website and through other channels.

Designer collaboration

We support the creative activities of designers by providing materials and introducing processing partners.
New works are being born that leverage YUPO's unique texture and durability.

Paralym Art

On the occasion of our 50th anniversary, we began activities to support artists with disabilities.

As part of this initiative, we held a Paralym Art exhibition in 2018 with the theme "Dreams 50 Years from Now." Moving forward, we will continue to use art as a central axis to support the independence and social participation of people with disabilities and work in close partnership with artists to expand their creative possibilities.

Dream Seeds Project

We are collaborating with light artist Kyota Takahashi on the Dream Seeds Project.

Between 2005 and 2018, we provided production support and YUPO TRACE materials on six different occasions (2005, 2006, 2008, twice in 2010, and 2018). During these events, "Dream Seeds," pieces of YUPO TRACE on which children have drawn depictions of their dreams, descend all at once from balloons floating in the night sky, creating a magical scene.

Community engagement

YUPO is broadly involved in contributing to local communities through the sponsorship of events across Japan.

Elementary school guest lectures

We frequently conduct guest lectures at local elementary schools to convey the appeal of science and chemistry by teaching how substances are formed and making crafts using YUPO.
Furthermore, since YUPO is widely used for election ballots, we occasionally hold workshops themed around election awareness to foster a connection between learning and society.

Neighborhood cleaning activities in Kamisu

Guided by the belief that "protecting the environment means protecting the community," we have joined forces with local residents to conduct cleaning activities along the coast of Kamisu, home to our Kashima Factory, as well as in neighboring areas and around the factory perimeter.
Together with the local community, we are taking these small steps toward environmental protection (conducted six times a year).

Providing YUPO for events

We cooperate by providing materials for festivals and events held in various regions.
By leveraging YUPO's unique material properties, such as water resistance and strength, for posters, decorations, and exhibition displays, we contribute to creating attractive venues. We will continue these activities as a member of the community to support local vitality.

Contribution to disaster prevention and mitigation

As a material manufacturer, we are driven by the desire to contribute to the safety of as many people as possible through our products. To this end, we continuously create sample hazard maps made of YUPO and introduce our materials to local governments.
YUPO's water resistance and durability, which prevent tearing even when exposed to rain and wind or repeated folding, ensure that disaster prevention information is reliably communicated, providing peace of mind during emergencies. Currently, YUPO hazard maps have been adopted by many local governments nationwide.
