101 Co., Ltd. needed to address label deterioration caused by condensation and damage in frozen pet food packaging, while also exploring how to communicate its commitment to domestic production and pet health. YPI250 was selected for its performance in frozen environments, enabling both quality retention and a premium appearance, contributing to enhanced brand value.
Under its “Natural Pet Deli” brand, 101 Co., Ltd. has adopted YUPO for the packaging of “Special Horse Meat Mince,” made from 100% horse meat sourced from Kumamoto Prefecture. This frozen pet food product is intended for households with dogs and cats and is processed in company-managed workshops and domestic partner facilities to ensure safety and quality before being sold through e-commerce, retail stores, and events.
In selecting packaging materials, durability for use in frozen environments was required, along with a premium appearance that reflects the brand concept of “Japanese aesthetics and a carefully curated lifestyle,” as well as the reassurance of domestic production. As the product places strong emphasis on quality, freshness, and processing, the packaging was expected to convey the same level of value.
YPI250 was selected for its ability to prevent tearing and label deterioration caused by condensation and ice adhesion in frozen conditions. Its production in domestic facilities also aligns with the brand’s philosophy.
While fine die-cut designs presented minor challenges such as slight lifting in certain areas, improvements are planned in collaboration with processing partners to further enhance design precision.
